Blancmange on TV!

White House Farm is the name of a new ITV six-part crime drama, which recalls the brutal horror of a whole family on the farm in question in 1985.

The soundtrack to this harrowing story includes a remake of ‘Feel Me’, a memorable slice of 80s synth pop by Blancmange, which originally appeared on their Happy Families album.

At the dawn of the nineties, Manchester quartet Northside emerged as part of the so-called ‘Madchester’ indie scene. Signed to the city’s leading label Factory, they enjoyed hits with all three of their singles – including ‘Take 5’, with its riff reminiscent of Nirvana‘s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ (though it was issued several months earlier!). ‘Take 5’ was recently used to soundtrack a worldwide online advert for Mini cars.
